Understand when and how you receive payment for completed sessions.

When You Get Paid

Understanding the payout process helps you manage your earnings effectively.

Payout Timeline

After Session Completion

  1. Session ends at the scheduled time
  2. Payment processing begins automatically
  3. Platform fee deducted (10%, 15%, or 20% based on session price)
  4. Payout queued to your saved payment method
  5. Funds sent to your bank account

Typical Timeline

  • Processing time: 24-48 hours after session completion
  • Bank transfer time: 3-5 business days
  • Total time: Usually 4-7 business days from session end to funds in your account

Commission Structure

iTutor deducts a platform fee:

  • 10% for sessions under $100 TTD
  • 15% for sessions $100-$199 TTD
  • 20% for sessions $200 TTD and above

This fee covers platform maintenance, payment processing, support, and infrastructure.

Example Calculation

  • Session rate: $150 TTD/hour (1 hour session)
  • Platform fee: 15% = $22.50 TTD
  • Your payout: $127.50 TTD

Payment Methods

Payouts are sent via:

  • Bank transfer (primary method)
  • Directly to your registered bank account
  • Uses the payment information in your Settings

Tracking Your Payouts

View Payout History

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to Payment Settings or Payout History
  3. View all completed payouts with:
    • Date of session
    • Amount earned
    • Platform fee
    • Payout amount
    • Status (processing/completed)

Payment Notifications

You'll receive notifications:

  • When payment processing begins
  • When payout is sent to your bank
  • If there are any issues with payout

Session Types and Payouts

Regular Completed Sessions

  • Full session payment processed
  • Both parties attended and completed
  • Standard commission applies

Student No-Show Sessions

  • If student doesn't join within 33% of session time
  • You can mark as student no-show
  • You receive 50% of the session fee
  • Platform fee still applies

Cancelled Sessions

  • If you cancel: No payout
  • If student cancels before session: No payout
  • Cancellation policies apply

Factors That Can Delay Payouts

  • Missing or incorrect payment information - Update immediately
  • Bank holidays - Processing may be delayed
  • Account verification issues - Ensure details are current
  • Technical issues - Rare, but contact support if suspected

Minimum Payout Threshold

Currently, there is no minimum payout threshold. Every completed session results in a payout, regardless of amount.

Multiple Sessions

If you complete multiple sessions:

  • Each session is processed individually
  • Payouts may arrive separately
  • Check your payout history for tracking

Taxes and Reporting

  • You are responsible for reporting income
  • Keep records of all payouts
  • iTutor can provide payout summaries on request
  • Consult tax professionals for guidance

What If Payment Doesn't Arrive?

If you haven't received payment after 7 business days:

  1. Check your payout history first
  2. Verify your payment information is correct
  3. Check with your bank (sometimes there are delays on their end)
  4. Contact support: support@myitutor.com

  • Set up payment info early - Before your first session
